Discursive

Discursive 是一个形容词。在负面意义上,指文章或谈话主题不集中,跑题;在哲学语境中,指通过逻辑推理得出结论的过程。

  1. The book is a bit too discursive and would benefit from some editing. (这本书有点太散漫了,如果能进行一些剪辑会更好。)
  2. Her speech was long and discursive, touching on many unrelated topics. (她的演讲冗长且散漫,涉及了许多无关的主题。)
  3. Scientific reasoning is a discursive process. (科学推理是一个逻辑推论的过程。)
  • 词根-curs- (跑,如 current, course)
  • 前缀dis- (到处/散开)
  • 含义:到处乱跑 -> 散漫/跑题。

联想 discuss (讨论)。Discursive 就是那种像漫无目的的“讨论”一样到处跑题的状态。或者记:dis- (散开) + course (路线)。

The professor’s discursive lectures were interesting but made it hard to take structured notes. (教授那东拉西扯的讲座很有趣,但很难记下有条理的笔记。)
