Annex
Annex 既可以作动词（兼并），也可以作名词（附件/边房）。
- Germany annexed Austria in 1938. (德国在 1938 年兼并了奥地利。)
- The school is building a new science annex. (学校正在建设一个新的科学教学附楼。)
- The report is attached as an annex to the main document. (该报告作为附件附在主文档后面。)
- 词根：
-nex-(连接，如 connect, nexus) - 前缀：
an-(ad- 的变体，表示 to) - 含义：连接到一起。
联想 next (下一个/邻近)。Annex 就是把“邻近”的土地或房间变成你自己的。
Due to the increasing number of students, the college had to annex an old warehouse for use as classrooms. (由于学生人数增加，学院不得不征用并改建一个旧仓库作为教室。)
